David A. Matheson, M.S., LPC
David is a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice in Salt Lake City. His clinical focus is on helping men who want to diminish unwanted homosexuality and feel whole as men.
His professional training began in the early 1990s as he served in various capacities within Evergreen International. He has lectured, taught workshops, and given commentary on radio and television advocating for the possibility of change. Furthermore, he has diligently researched and written on the change process. In 2000, Evergreen honored him with their "Beacon of Light" award.
David received his Masters of Science degree in Counseling and Guidance from Brigham Young University in 1996. Afterwards he practiced for seven years as a psychological assistant under Dr. Joseph Nicolosi. During his tenure, he co-created the "Journey into Manhood" experiential weekend with Ben Newman and began serving on the board of directors of People Can Change. In 2002, David went into private practice in Jersey City, New Jersey. He recently relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah.
Baxter Peffer, M.S.
Baxter has his Masters of Science degree in Christian and Community Counseling from Philadelphia Biblical University and works with men of all faiths to increase their sense of masculinity through gender wholeness processes. Working with David Matheson, Baxter has developed research standards and educational tools for men who seek to overcome unwanted same-sex attractions. He is experienced in presenting psychoeducational awareness programs, educational weekends and seminars focusing on deep emotional healing work for men seeking to overcome unwanted same-sex attraction. Currently Baxter is pursuing licensure for professional counseling.
